Last Update Austrlia - Melbourne Grand Prix

Sorry for the delay, but the internet connection in India was up to now not what one could call "broadband".
Here is the last update of Australian pictures. Specially for you Christian some Melbourne Grand Prix impressions:
First of all the view from the Grand Stand right before the pit lane entry.

Well it was not that hard to catch a pic of this car, they were not fast at that weekend.

The view from just above the pit lane:

An finally the picture you have to take whenever you are in Melbourne....

My Apartment

Live in Melbourne is wonderful (Martin lucky bastard). Here the view from my apartment on the skyline of Melbourne and Flinder's station:

Here is the proof it's taken of my apartment on the 34th floor ;-).
.
The view from my sleeping room isn't bad as well, it faces towards the Melbourne Bay ;-)

... some more of my sleeping room ...
.
Now to the practical stuff, the bathroom

... and the kitchen ...

... and the living room

Certified Tecoblock Builder

... at least if it does not work out with Wacker I have now a second career. After setting up my first Teco column I'm a "Certified Tecoblock Builder", yippieh.

Ok, ok, the foundation was already set up:

but I had to cut the straps ...

... use the locators ...

... measure and finally nail the base frame on the foundation!

To lay the bricks was then straigth forward,

... as wall as the finishing strap
.

What came next was nasty ... and messed up a pair of shoes. I do not want to complain,...

Sydney

... what should I say, "Sydney is amazing".
The harbour is dominated by the harbour bridge (and of course some ocean liners) ...

... at one picture of me ...
.

... and of course the Sydney Opera house

I made a tour through the inside of the opera, but it is more impressing outside
.

Great Ocean Drive + Melbourne Bay

Finally some more pictures of the Melbourne area ;-).
I made two one day trips:

1. around the bay and back to Melbourne

2. down to the 12 apostels and back along the Great Ocean Drive to Melbourne

For further details have a look on the map:

1. The way to Sorrento is really beautiful. It feels a bit like driving along the Amalfi coast ... a lot of flowers and vinaries:

From Sorrento you can take the ferry to the other side of the bay. (Martin: The ticket costs 50AUD but is worth it). Yes, bad...

... a walk in the Park ...

On February 9th I visited Healesville Sanctuary, a zoo for Austalian wildlife.
"Wom-en-jika" means "welcome" in the language of the Wurundjeri people, the traditional custodians of Victoria (Australia), so welcome some of the native Australians:
-the Emus (looks a bit like a ostrich)

... sorry here the front view(s)

-everyone knows these fellows: Kangaroos

...whoop whoop

-ohy some Cackatoos

... and his more punkish friend

- the (worldfamous) Platypus
... sorry no pictures of that one, he loves...

Singapore 2008

Starting from the 3rd of February I stayed in Singapore for 4 days, leaving at Chinese New Years Day. As a city state Sinpapore has about four million citizens. The countries official language is English whereas "Singlish" is the most commonly spoken one. Singlish is a mixture between English 70%, Chinese 20% and Indian 10 %.

I stayed in the Goodwood Park Hotel, which was built in 1900 as a German club.

The hotel is currently listet among the 300 best hotels in the world.
Singapore is dominated...
